Spider-Man Homecoming Movie Review by Ryan Balkwill (SPOILER Free)

Genre: Action & Adventure, Drama, Science Fiction & Fantasy

Directors: Jon Watts

Produced by: Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal

Screenplay by:

Story by Jonathan Goldstein, John Francis Daley

Casts: Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Tyne Daly, Tony Revolori, Jacob Batalon, Bokeem Woodbine, Laura Harrier, Marisa Tomei & Robert Downey Jr.

Plot: Several months after the events of Captain America: Civil War, Peter Parker, with the help of his mentor Tony Stark, tries to balance his life as an ordinary high school student in Queens, New York City while fighting crime as his superhero alter ego Spider-Man as a new threat, the Vulture, emerges.

I like the plot to this 3rd spider-man outing because it’s the 3rd spider-man reboot of the character but this time this one it’s in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

I love this one because it’s going back to spider-man’s root and also this set in the same world as their Avengers.

Good Bits: Peter showing footage from civil-war, Peter, Tony & Happy Hogan’s interaction. Toomes takes both Liz and Peter to the homecoming prom.  The Easter Eggs, Everyone is a fan of spider-man. They catch the vibe of high-school right & finely one really good villain in a really good spider-man movie since spider-man 2: Adrian Toomes/Vulture is an excellent villain.

Bad Bits: The suit’s eyes are too squishy.

The film’s Characters are:                                                                                                          Tom Holland as Peter Parker / Spider-Man:

A 15-year-old who received spider-like abilities after being bitten by a genetically-modified spider. Who did signed for three Spider-Man films and three others.

 Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes / Vulture:

A salvager turned arms trafficker after his company is forced out of business. He possesses a suit consisting of mechanical wings forged from Chitauri technology & MCU villain’s technologies.

 Jon Favreau as Harold “Happy” Hogan:

The former head of security for Stark Industries and Tony Stark’s driver and bodyguard. Favreau stated that in the film, Hogan is “looking after [Parker]. He needs someone to help him out.

Jacob Batalon as Parker’s best friend Ned, a “complete gamer”.

 Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones:

One of Parker’s classmates, “very smart, very intellectual, [and] always in her books.”

Tony Revolori plays Eugene “Flash” Thompson, Parker’s rival and classmate.

 Donald Glover as Aaron Davis:

A criminal looking to purchase weapons from Toomes.

Laura Harrier as Liz, a senior, Parker’s love interest.

 Tyne Daly as Anne Marie Hoag: The head of the U.S. Department of Damage Control.

 Marisa Tomei as May Parker: Peter’s aunt.

 Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark / Iron Man:

A self-described genius, billionaire, playboy, and philanthropist with electromechanical suits of armour of his own invention, who is Parker’s mentor and is the creator of the U.S. Department of Damage Control.

I highly recommend this film to everyone who loves spider-man and the Marvel Cinematic Universe and stay for the end of the credits.

Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars – Rotten Tomatoes/Flixster
