Best & Worst Movies OF 2021 Written by Ryan Balkwill

Best:

Help.                                                                   This is a brilliant take on the early days of the pandemic affecting care homes.

The Mitchells Vs. The Machines. Phil Lord & Christopher Miller had done it again putting on a quality Fun journey this time for Netflix.

Spiderman: No Way Home. This was a very good conclusion to the MCU’s Peter Parker from Tony Stark’s protégé to him learning “With Great power comes with great responsibility”.

Raya and the Last Dragon. Another well done picture from Disney animation.

Malcolm & Marie.              This film was a masterpiece of storytelling & worth a watch.

Ghostbusters Afterlife.                             This was worth the wait to me, seeing a proper Ghostbusters film done right.

Nomad-Land.                                                                                        This was an amazing heartfelt emotional ride.

Free Guy.   It took Ryan Reynolds to make a movie based off of video games look Awesome.

The Suicide Squad.       Thank you James Gunn for reviving The Suicide Squad I.P back to prominence from the disastrous first one.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League.                I’m glad Zack Snyder finally gets to finish his vision of Justice League.

Honourable Mentions:

One Night in Miami.

Godzilla Vs. Kong.

Worst:

Thunder Force.                   This is a failure as both a comic-book movie and a buddy-cop movie.

Cosmic Sin.                                 This is a failure as both a comic-book movie and a buddy-cop movie.

Cinderella.                                    I was appalled by this adaptation of Cinderella far too many musical numbers.

Home Sweet Home Alone.

For someone who’s not into the Home Alone franchise, This one didn’t change my view.

Injustice.        This was a major letdown of a movie and I would recommend the comics and the video games.

Locke down.                This one failed to show how the pressure of covid and being in lockdown could affect people’s mental health.

He’s All That.              I’m glad this remade didn’t succeed.

The Kissing Booth 3.           I enjoyed the first two films but the last one was a failed attempt to finish off this trilogy.

Bliss movie poster CR: Prime Video

Bliss.                                 This was boring and dreary.

Voyagers.                  I found this hard to understand and keep up with story.

Dishonourable Mentions:

I am All Girls.

Chaos Walking.

Awake.

The Card Counted.
